Ultrasounds

Now that you’ve received a positive pregnancy test, it’s essential to schedule a free ultrasound appointment with us. Our limited obstetric ultrasounds help determine the viability of your pregnancy and how far along you are. We have outlined some common questions about ultrasounds to provide you with more information.

What is an Ultrasound?

An ultrasound, also known as a sonogram, is a prenatal test for pregnant women. It uses sound waves to create a picture of your baby in the womb (uterus).

We encourage you to schedule an early ultrasound before 14 weeks of pregnancy.

Why Do I Need an Ultrasound?

An ultrasound will provide you important imformation about your body, health and pregnancy

Reasons Why:

  • To confirm you’re pregnant
  • To check the baby’s age & growth. This helps determine your due date
  • To check the baby’s heartbeat and overall development
  • To check if you’re pregnant with multiples
I Had an Ultrasound, Now What?

If you are unsure of what to do after your pregnancy is confirmed, we encourage you to sit down with us to discuss your options.

It is important to know the St. Gerard’s Center For Life does not provide abortions or contraceptives, nor do we refer for these services.

However, we want to ensure that you are well-informed about all of your options. We will discuss abortion, adoption, and parenting, and provide you with resources to help you make this decision.
